Ultimate Caregiver Guide

Our Why

There are an increasing number of individuals taking on the role of providing in-home care to loved ones. This, in part, is due to increased health care costs, inadequate health insurance, fear of placing a relative into a facility, financial constraints, and more. Whatever your reason for deciding to become a caregiver to your loved one, our system is designed to help you manage being a caregiver and balance that with the rest of your life.

Our System

PART 1: The Book

The system took four years to develop, and is based on 30 years of experience in the role of a caregiver. To help you navigate the complex, emotional, often difficult, yet rewarding role of caregiver, we've structured the program into 6 easy-to-digest chapters written in “real talk.” That means no complex terms or a bunch of theory. Instead, we speak to you like the friends you enjoy hanging out with would speak to you.

PART 2: The get it done action guide

Your own place to take notes, write ideas and capture insights to help you implement the wisdom, ideas and action challenges inside the book.

Here’s an overview of the chapters…

CHAPTER 1: GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME

We answer these questions:

  • What does it mean to be a caregiver?

  • Am I prepared to be a caregiver?

  • If I'm not prepared, what must I do first?

CHAPTER 2: GET REAL WITH YOUR LOVED ONE

We answer these questions:

  • Who do I need to talk with about my desire to care for my loved one at home?

  • How do I talk with my loved one about in-home care?

  • What if others feel differently than I do about in-home care?

CHAPTER 3: DEVELOPING A SUPPORT SYSTEM

We answer these questions:

  • How do I determine what I need to do this well?

  • How do I know my true strengths and weaknesses to provide the care required?

  • I need help. How can I build a support team?

CHAPTER 4: MONEY MATTERS

We answer these questions:

  • Am I financially prepared?

  • Wow! How do I track assets and keep everything afloat?

  • What can I do to reduce the strain of paying bills?

CHAPTER 5: TAKING CARE OF YOU

We answer these questions:

  • What does it mean to take care of me?

  • How do I avoid the "me or them" syndrome?

  • Who can I go to for help when I need to care for myself?

  • What are some inexpensive tricks for getting a little R&R?

CHAPTER 6: TRANSITION PLAN | THE DEPARTURE

  • How do I prepare for termination of care?

  • What are the dynamics to handling final care plans?
